PRESS RELEASE: Warmzone Launches New Line of Control Units for
Snowmelt Systems
April 25, 2008 —
To accompany its expanding line of electric snow melting products, Warmzone introduces a new line of master control units for residential and industrial use. The DMC-100
master control unit was developed to address the need for a
maintenance-free, UL listed snowmelt system for home and business
owners. The control unit features manual override capability and energy-efficient, under-pavement heating
to safely and effectively provide reliable snow and ice melting for sidewalks, driveways
and other outdoor applications. An outdoor snow sensor is connected
to the master control unit and automatically activates the heated
driveway snowmelt system when the sensor plate detects precipitation and temperatures are below 38
degrees Fahrenheit.
The design of the control box is extremely robust for any weather situation, has a built-in
programmable timer and digital operator
interface. The user interface does not contain external mechanical parts,
making it very rugged and easy to use. It is the only control unit of
its kind that is UL listed for use in residential areas, which means the
control system has passed the rigorous demands required to achieve the
industry's highest standards of safety. Being UL listed ensures that your
home's fire insurance policy will not be voided by installing the snowmelt
system.
The control unit is easily programmed to activate a heated driveway system for the allotted time selected by the owner and shuts
off automatically when the time has expired. The DMC-100 series of control boxes demonstrates Warmzone’s innovation and expertise in the radiant heat industry,
as well as its commitment to
accommodate the needs of consumers. The DMC-100 master control unit is
designed to accommodate extension units (EXU-100), which can be used in conjunction with the master control box
to extend the system's heating capabilities to even larger areas. The new Warmzone master
control box is virtually unparalleled in its performance, flexibility and
ease of use, making it the premier driveway heating and snowmelt control
unit on the market today.

Warmzone will assist you in finding professional, certified installers who can install the control box to any industrial or residential radiant heat system.
The control unit may also be used with any existing snowmelt system that is compatible with the load requirements
of the control unit. A single
DMC-100 can provide radiant heat for areas up to approximately 530 square feet
(at 36 watts per square foot). Optional EXU-100 extension
units are available to accommodate larger snowmelt areas. Up to five extension units can be
connected to a single DMC-100 master control unit.
