FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 Product Questions

Q:  What Roof Deicing products does Warmzone recommend?

A:  Warmzone sells four varieties of roof deicing systems; RoofHeat, Danfoss, BlueHeat and Zmesh.
Each has unique characteristics. Please contact us to determine which system best meets your
     individual project requirements.

Q:  What is RoofHeat?

A:  RoofHeat is our revolutionary patent pending system made from a custom aluminum panel
which is designed for maximum heat transfer. Each panel is powder coated with a durable finish
that will best compliment the colors of your roof. We have a large assortment of panel colors and      textures to choose from. When mounted to your roof eaves and/or valleys, the RoofHeat system
is designed to eliminate ice and snow in those areas keeping your home or business perimeter
safer and reducing the risk of winter roof damage.

Q:  When should I choose BlueHeat and Danfoss Cables?

A:  Melting snow with cables on roofs is sometimes the only available solutions for existing roofs.
Our ice melting cables are durable, high quality products that can minimize roof ice dams from
forming and help prevent damage caused by snow and ice.

Our gutter heating cables are the ideal solutions for preventing dangerous and damaging icicles
from forming. It is recommended that gutter melting cables be used in conjunction with a roof
deicing systems. Our cable systems are also activated by automatic sensors that sit in the gutter.
They conserve energy by only turning on when necessary.

Q:  What is Zmesh?

A:  Zmesh for roofs is a 9" wide, bronze, wire mesh that resembles screen door material that is rolled
out over the area to be heated. Zmesh is sandwiched in between two layers of 'ice and
water shield'and stapled to the roof decking. Shingles are then secured with nails directly on top.
Nails can pierce the Zmesh, as long as the nails do not come in contact with any other metal
objects. The largest Zmesh system (zone) will cover approximately 450 square feet.
Multiple zones are sometimes required for larger projects. Heating at least 6" above the roof
     eaves is recommended.

Q:  Are your roof deicing systems manually or automatically activated?

A:  Roof deicing systems can be activated with an automatic gutter-mounted switch, temperature
     sensor, or manual timer.
