Radiant Roof Deicing and Gutter Heating
Radiant heated roof and gutter heating systems
can dramatically enhance the life span of your roof
and protect it from damage caused by heavy snow and ice
accumulation.
Older buildings are a visible testament to
the damaging effects of
roof ice and snow that can destroy fronts, roofs, drainpipes, and gutters. Roofs that have substandard support structures, and such shortcomings can enable water to enter the building. As technology improves insulation value, there is less heat gain from inside of the building, causing an increased hazard of ice damage and damming on the roof. Once winter frost sets in, damage is often inevitable.
Flat roofs on industrial buildings often give in to excessive weight loads generated by accumulations of ice and snow. This can be prevented by installing
a quality heated roof and gutter deicing system, eliminating potential damage from
snow and ice buildup.
Roof Heating and Deicing Cable
Most snow and ice melt applications are best served
by using the RoofHeat self-regulating heating element,
Warmzone's most recommended roof heating solution.
Durable RoofHeat heat cables can be installed in roof gutters and drainpipes
to keep your home safe
from dangerous ice damage and frost erosion. (Determining the ideal heat cable,
thermostat and sensor depends in part on the size, type and
construction of the roof, and also on the overall requirements
of the particular installation.)
The RoofHeat roof and gutter heating cable
features advanced technology that results in effective, energy efficient
operation. The irradiated conductive core increases its heat
output as the temperature falls, and decreases its output when
the temperature rises. The heating element also features a
rugged, durable construction, capable of withstanding harsh
winter environments.
RoofHeat comes with a 100
percent tinned copper braid, fluoropolymer outer jacket and a
continuous metal ground band. The cable is UL recognized under the
Appliance Wire Classification (file E 76498) and meets the
requirements of Section 426 of the National Electric Code (NEC).
This ensures durability, reliability and extremely effective
performance.
Automated Roof Heating
Automated roof heating systems feature a main controller
(a snow/ice sensor), that activates the snowmelt system
only when moisture is detected and the temperature is below 39°
F. This
provides an extremely cost-effective solution for large areas of
roof snow and ice melting. The
Warmzone master control
unit is the premier snowmelt control
unit in the industry, and the only UL listed control unit of its
kind, making it ideal for residential and commercial
applications.
Outdoor temperature sensors are intended for use on roofs and in
roof gutters, while moisture sensors and wire sensors are normally fitted inside gutters where
the melted runoff collects. The actual number and placement depends on the size and nature of the particular
roof heating installation.
Warmzone's electric weatherproof thermostat provides temperature control for small
and large areas.
