Radiant Floor Heating
Insulation Panels
HeatShield Panels
are the optimum solution for heating
under laminate and
engineered wood flooring. With
HeatShield Panels
there’s no need to embed the
heat
cables in a mud base. Simply lay
the insulation panels on
the existing floor, press the
heating cable into the grooves
provided and lay the wooden laminate
floor directly on top.
Then connect the thermostat and turn on
the heat.
The HeatShield floor
insulation panels consist of a
½-inch thick
polystyrene insulation covered with
a thin, specially
profiled aluminum. The panels ensure
excellent downward
insulation and optimum upward heat
distribution that
significantly reduces energy
consumption.

HeatShield Applications and Installation
Information
|
Radiant Heat for Engineered
Hardwood Floors
HeatShield Panels feature
lightweight aluminum
insulation
panels that provide superior
heat distribution and
efficiency. The panels
create a barrier between the
subfloor and the new floor
surface to eliminate energy
loss and
reflect the heat directly up
into the room where you
can enjoy it.
Radiant Floor Heating for
Laminate Surfaces
HeatShield Panels provide
the ideal, easy-to-install
solution for electric
floor heating under
laminate floors. The design
is so efficient that you
typically may run your floor
heating system for shorter
periods of time, which
translates into an
additional cost
savings for you.
Advanced Radiant Floor
Heating Design
The
aluminum HeatShield Panels
conveniently snap together
across the length of the
floor. The panels have
pre-cut
grooves for the heat cable,
ensuring accurate spacing
and
allowing you to use the
industry's most trusted
heat cables
(ComfortTile)
without the use of mortar
and thinset. Simply lay the
insulation panels down and
snap them together, using
small
plastic locking keys that
are provided with the
system.
Place the heating cable in
the grooves provided and
then
install your new flooring.
For custom shaped rooms, the
HeatShield Panel can easily
be cut with a standard table
saw or jig saw.
A
key benefit of
HeatShield Panels is that
insulation
is built into the aluminum
plates/panels, maximizing
heat
distribution and efficiency.
Because the panels act as
insulation as well as a
reflective heat source, the
efficient system serves as a
giant radiator, radiating
heat
evenly across the room.
HeatShield floor heating
systems
mark a dramatic improvement
over traditional radiant
floor heating
methods by
not allowing heat to escape
down into the subfloor.
