Hydronic Radiant Floor Heating Product

Why InfloorBoard Works so Well for
Radiant Floor Heating
Non-structural
InfloorBoard (previously ThermalBoard) is
designed specifically for subfloor applications. It
is constructed of dense composite board
covered with aluminum that spreads floor
heat evenly and quickly. InfloorBoard heats the
floor rapidly and is easy to control with
setback thermostats for maximum energy
efficiency. It contains just enough thermal
mass to be effective, but not so much that it's
difficult to control. No other hydronic floor
heating product combines the performance, ease
of installation, and cost-effectiveness of
InfloorBoard.

InfloorBoard System Components
The InfloorBoard hydronic floor heating
system utilizes three different modular
boards during installation: straight piece, combo
end, and utility end. The specifications for
these under-floor boards are as follows:
Dimensions: Each board is
16"x48"x5/8"
Square
Footage: 5.333 sq. ft. per board
Weight: Approximately 2.5
pounds per sq. ft. 13.3 pounds per board
Common Product Mix: Straight,
70%; Combo End, 15%; Utility End, 15%
InfloorBoard is typically glued and screwed
or stapled to a wood subfloor or glued to
cement. Then PEX pipe, which carries warm water to
heat the floor, is secured into the groove. Heat is
transferred from the pipe to the aluminum
and the board, providing evenly distributed
floor heat. InfloorBoard is manufactured from MDF
(medium density fiberboard) or dense OSB
(oriented strand board), which are relatively
conductive wood products weighing 44-50 lbs. per
cubic foot. The board is grooved and then
laminated with a top layer of highly conductive
aluminum to efficiently disperse and transfer heat
away from the groove to the surface area of
the whole board, heating your floor safely and
evenly.

InfloorBoard Layout
Putting the Puzzle Together
As with any radiant floor heating
system installation, the first step is to
obtain a quality design and layout. This can
be particularly important for first-time installers,
which is why Warmzone offers this service.
Warmzone can provide a detailed InfloorBoard
layout showing board placement and tubing circuits
for your hydronic floor heating system. The
layout designs provided are professional CAD
drawings of the proper panel combinations to accept
the PEX radiant tubing. Contact Warmzone today to
