|Q:||What is Roof Heating?|
|A:|| Warmzone roof
heating systems include a variety of
top quality roof deicing solutions. Several
types of radiant heat products
are available for the various types of
roofing materials. Some roof
heating systems include aluminum panels with
self-regulating heat cable while one of the most popular
roof heating systems feature a thin, flexible polymer
heating element that can be installed discreetly under
shingles as well as metal roofs. This STEP RoofHeat system
is one of the most advanced - and popular - roof deicing solutions
on the market. The maleable heating elements can also be
installed in roof valleys to facilitate runoff. When mounted
along your roof eaves and/or valleys, these roof
heating systems eliminate ice and
snow (and subsequent ice dams) in those areas, keeping your home or
business perimeter safer and
reducing the risk of winter roof damage.

|Q:||When should I choose Heat Cables vs. other Radiant Heating Methods?|
|A:|| Melting snow with
cables on roofs is sometimes the only
available solution for existing
roofs. Our self-regulating ice
melting cables are durable, high
quality products that can be installed to
minimize roof ice dams from forming and help
prevent damage caused by snow
Our gutter heating cables are the ideal solutions for preventing dangerous and damaging icicles from forming. It is recommended that gutter melting cables be used in conjunction with a roof deicing systems. Our cable systems are also activated by an automatic sensor that is mounted near the gutter. They conserve energy by only turning on when necessary.
|Q:||What is RoofHeat/FloorHeat?|
voltage RoofHeat STEP roof deicing
systems consist of semi-conductive polyethelene
heating elements, available in
4, 6, 9 and 12 inch widths, that are
self-regulating and can be
easily rolled out over the area to be
STEP is encased and fabricated with
Mylar on both sides to ensure that the panel
is protected against UV rays and other potential
physical damages. It can be
stapled to the roof decking.
Shingles are then secured with nails
directly on top. Nails can
pierce the RoofHeat
STEP heating element as long as
the nails do not come in contact with any
other metal objects. The largest
RoofHeat STEP system (zone) will cover
approximately 450 square
Multiple zones are sometimes required for larger projects. Heating at least 6-inches above the roof eaves is recommended.
|Q:||Are your roof deicing systems manually or automatically activated?|
deicing systems can be activated
with an automatic gutter-mounted switch,
temperature sensor, or manual timer.
|Q:||What are the power requirements for your systems?|
|A:|| The power
requirements vary from system to system.
Generally, cable heating systems
require a 240V 30-amp breaker for every
300-square-feet you are heating.
|Q:||Do you have local dealers?|
