Discreet, Energy-Efficient Roof Heating Panels

An Innovative Roof De-icing Solution for Heating Existing RoofsInstallation tips for installing RetroRoof panel de-icing system.

The design of the thin roof heating panels allows the roofing installer to easily “daisy chain” the heating panels together as they are positioned in the areas that need to be heated. This convenient system makes it possible for homeowners to discreetly “retrofit” their roof with a de-icing system. In addition to having attributes that allow the system to be installed under existing shingles, the roof heating panels can also be installed in new construction applications as well.

RetroRoof heating panels are commonly installed under shingles along roof edges to prevent ice dams from forming. The panels can also be easily installed to heat roof valleys to facilitate runoff.

Installation of the roof de-icing system is easy. The heating panels feature adhesive strips on both sides. After removing the release liner on the underside of the heating panel, it can then be locked into place and secured to the roof, underneath the shingle. Removing the top release liner strip allows the installer to seal the panel to the next course of covering shingles. The flat panel wiring connections conveniently snap into place, connecting the panels and making installation of this system quick and simple.
